The Thai government has been promoting the local industry through the manufacturing of attractive specialty products based on the abundant native culture, tradition and nature. This campaign is called‚ One Tambon One Product (OTOP) in Thailand because the target area is the administrative unit called ‚Tambon, which is the equivalent of village or town in English.
These are some of the products made under the OTOP scheme within Udon Thani Province and specifically Amphoe Ban Dung.

A village of potters is located at Ban Kham on route 22. At Ban Pu Lu, residents replicate the old Ban Chiang pottery

In Ban Dong Yen, the villagers make baskets for the sticky rice from bamboo sticks.
